Malaysia, a beautiful country in South East Asia, is visa free for Indian passport holders until December 31, 2024, provided the traveller holds a confirmed return/onward flight ticket and has a confirmed hotel reservation.
There are direct flights from several Indian cities to Malaysia, making it a popular destination. It is home to the Merdeka 118 tower, the second-tallest building and structure in the world, only behind the Burj Khalifa, the famous Petronas Twin Towers and one of the world’s longest curve suspension bridges, Langkawi Sky Bridge that featured in Shahrukh Khan’s movie Don.

You can stay in Malaysia visa free up to 30 days. However, there is a small form you need to fill out at least three days prior to your landing in the country and it is called the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC). It was recently announced that all foreign citizens travelling to Malaysia must complete the MDAC registration.

It is compulsory for Indian passport holders to fill out the MDAC form before reaching Malaysia. The online MDAC forms for international travellers are available via https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/mdac/main.

If Malaysia visa free for Indians is not further extended post December 31, 2024, you’ll need to apply for a visa beforehand to visit the country. The Malaysia visa fee is around INR 3,200 and it takes around three to four working days to process the visa.
